I'd use I Love Lucy beds. It was stylish to sleep in separate beds back then. Go back further into history, the king and queen had separate chambers. Only the poor slept in same bed to keep warm, and they didn't have multiple rooms.

The idea that basic patriotism and gratitude for all we have in this country is something that's considered partisan political is just sad. Even though I'm not a republican, I have had this same thing said to me, ignoring the small detail that I was born on flag day and military service is common in our family.

It used to be the norm for higher class families, even in love marriages. It was mainly out of necessity why lower class families didn’t-they simply didn’t have the space. It’s a fairly normal practice to sleep without your partner. Just because you’re compatible everywhere else doesn’t mean sleeping in the same bed is the best option.
